" . . . I would have you know, beloved ones, that although the Roman Church has chosen to designate my ascension as the 'assumption' into heaven, I announce to you in this hour that I did indeed make the 'physical' ascension.

"Know this to be true and therefore follow in the wake of my garment. Nestle your little footprints in my own and walk closely behind me that you might be carried up in the garments of my ascension flame and you might also aspire to this event in your life—not that it is an absolute necessity, but by your call to the resurrection flame and your balancing of the yin and yang forces in your four lower bodies, this may indeed come to you.

"Do not seek it out of pride. Do not seek it for any other reason except to fulfill the Law of Love. There is a path to the physical ascension, as Enoch has told you, as Rex and Nada and Bob and Pearl have explained. So it is true that some have taken that ascension and therefore marked a mighty cross of white fire in the earth that others might achieve the same.

"I AM, then, [and I come to you in this hour] in the fullness of my mantle [as I bore it in] the hour of my ascension, in the moment when there was a release from my Causal Body unto all those who had the same tie to me as Elisha had to Elijah. [Therefore,] if you see me when I am taken up, you shall have that which you ask-a double portion of my Spirit."

"The fire of your heart is the key to your ascension. It is always the key, [the determining factor as to] whether or not one who applies shall be [accepted at the retreat of Luxor as] a candidate for the ascension. We do not say, 'What is his qualification?' We say, 'What is his fire?'

"Every fire has a qualification. You can qualify fire with anger and find yourself consumed by it. You can endow your fire with the piercing ray of the mind of a Manjushri, a Maitreya.

"Yes, beloved, heart and soul and mind, how does one develop fire? By cultivating deep feelings of God and of God in manifestation, deep implorings and adorations and Love—love that is always a sacrificial love that will lay down a portion of the self that another might see, that another might know, that another might be more of the living fire of God.

"Our God is a consuming fire! Thus we say, our consuming fire is our God! Therefore the type and quality of your consuming fire determines what can be the manifestation of God where you are, what can be the vibration of your spirit, fire for fire.

"Are you the lonely ones in search of someone who may give you fire for fire? Do you miss the tangible presence of seraphim and beings of Light as you search the earth for friend or brother who may have a fire that can meet and even exceed your own?

"O the joyous day when you meet El Morya and you say, 'Here is one whose fire exceeds my own, in whose heart I can place my fire, and trust it shall be multiplied by the good steward who is my Guru.'

"Yes, beloved, the lonely ones in the earth are lonely, for they do not find fiery ones for companions. And then again, along will come those who seem to have the fervor, seem to have the energy; but then upon further experience and examination these are a disappointment, for theirs is a misqualified fire, theirs is a fire that is tending lower vibrations and octaves not suitable for the presence of the Coming Buddha, who is come, and his Bodhisattvas.

"Therefore, beloved, understand that the spirit of an individual is the presence of his fire, the quality thereof. Let each one 'try the spirits.' When you see the Archangels and their hosts going to war against the dark spirits, [know that] it is against those who have misused the fire of God to the destruction of souls. Aye, it is so, beloved. Therefore test the spirit and test the fire and
do not be confused.

"There is a fire of hell. There is a fire of heaven. They both emit light. Yet what is the light? And if the Light that is in thee be Darkness, how great, I say, is that Darkness!

"The fire of darkness shines also, is beguiling, may entrance you and lead you astray. It can be discerned, beloved, by the discriminating wisdom of Amitabha. Learn it, beloved, for not only do the fallen ones misuse the fire to appear as adepts but in their mastery on the left-handed path they conceal the blackness of their fire.

"Yes, there is a black fire, beloved, and there is a black sun. Thus you see, your strength of oneness becomes an electrode for the Great Central Sun Magnet to demagnetize these dark fires of their endowment of Evil. Such is the work of knights and ladies of the flame in this hour.

" . . .Be cells that are enlivened, that ultimately can be independent of the body and yet be one with it. This does occur when the soul, fused to the Christ, merges with the I AM Presence in the ritual of the ascension, whereupon, beloved, you are suspended in time and space or in cosmos of Spirit as a sphere of God, a macrocosmic globule, a universe all inside.

"This is the meaning of the ascension. This is why you see in the artwork of the East Buddhas suspended in the heavens. They are the Dharmakaya. They have become one with the I AM Presence and the Causal Body."

"Realize then that when you have a single-pointed determination to manifest God-victory immaculately and with the highest excellence on one virtue, that virtue can become the point of the diamond and the point of the lance and it can become that very figure, that very point where you join in Shiva's cosmic dance."

"Better to live in Him and have your being in Christ and let the world have its ways, than for you to steel yourself with a false set of armor that is not the tube of light, the holy innocence of white-fire, but that is the mastering of deceit and intrigue, of its defenses, its indulgences and all of its experiences, which the fallen ones tell you you must have in order to distinguish Light and Darkness."

"Not all who study the teachings of the Ascended Masters become candidates for the ascension. I am bidden by Archangel Gabriel to remind you of this. For every man does receive according to his words, and by those words and by those works does there come the accounting."

The Ascension Process Is for Everyone
You Can Make Your Ascension in This Life

"You can make your ascension in this life. You must work hard and toil for it, but you can do it, beloved. And I ask you to make every effort to do so, for you do not know what may be coming upon the earth nor do we know. For things upon earth these days are wholly unpredictable.

"But what is predictable is your attitude. What is predictable is your love or nonlove to others. What is predictable is the power of God as shaft of royal blue descending into your temple. What is predictable is that the sun rises and the sun sets and within those turning points of each day you have opportunity to become the living Christ and the living Buddha.

"Therefore know, beloved, that none is left out. All are chosen until they choose not to be candidates for the ascension. Thus my seraphim place their Presence over you. Thus you are being saturated.

"Thus rejoice, for the joy of the LORD and all those ascended ones is truly upon you now."

" . . . some of you are candidates for the ascension today, having balanced at least 51 percent of your karma. And others who have not reached that level must surely work the works of God with great fierceness to overcome the not-self and free their inner being that is yet in the grips of that not-self.

"Enter, then, your Holy Christ Self. Surely your Holy Christ Self is your mentor, is your Guru. But not all of you have an open channel of communication, much less an ongoing conversation with your Holy Christ Self. You need to cultivate this communication every day of your life.

"Yes, your Holy Christ Self may be your Guru. But if you do not obey your Holy Christ Self because you do not listen to him with the humility in which he speaks to you, then how can he bring you to the level of your Christhood?

"Did you know that your Holy Christ Self is a special person with a very special profile? Indeed, your Holy Christ Self is unique. Many of you who have caught glimpses of him have already begun to take on his distinctive patterns."

"Mighty indeed is the pathway to the ascension, beloved, and happy are ye who are content
to walk in this path. Those of you who have so walked shall find yourselves coming closer and closer to that point of victory day after day, year after year, decade after decade . . .

"The hour has come for the Darjeeling Council to acknowledge those in this Community who have tarried long throughout many incarnations and thousands of years of earth’s schoolroom. Beloved ones, I speak to you of the Guru-chela relationship, for many of you had stalwart hearts and great images of the manger scene already within your hearts thousands of years ago. But it came to pass that there were centuries upon centuries when you did not have the full teaching of the Great White Brotherhood that you have this very day.

"So, beloved, when you found this activity and this Path, after having looked for it all over the world, you knew that you had found the very place in time and space where you might connect with God and know that acceleration. And when you came to Maitreya’s Mystery School, you learned of the violet flame and its multiple applications. You learned of the Power, the Wisdom and the Love of dynamic decrees. You learned of the path of transmutation, including sacrifice, surrender, selflessness and service.

"The full power of rejoicing in the Homeward Path has come upon you because you persevered until you finally found that place of the manger scene where the Christ Child was aborning in your hearts, and then you knew that, above all, you would find the road back to God wide open to you.

"So, beloved, the Darjeeling Council is determined this night to present to you members of this Community who have made tremendous strides by their service and their path. This I bring to you that you might realize just what great attainment is possible to every single lightbearer upon earth.

"And therefore, I bid those of you who have contacted the flame of the ark of the covenant on this altar to go out into the world and circle the planet round to bring this Path to every last lightbearer so that in this century and centuries to come all may have that victory—if they so choose.

"Therefore, it is the vote of the entire Darjeeling Council this night to acknowledge those of you who have made tremendous strides on the Path. Let us begin first with the history of those who have made their ascension. Some of you have heard these names, some of you have not. We honor each and every one this night, even as we shall honor many of you who are in the court."

"Well, beloved, you need not take ten thousand more years to make your ascension. But I warn you and I warn you clearly: Jesus had twelve disciples. Only a few made their ascension in that lifetime; others waited two thousand years, [and some are still waiting].

"What made the difference, beloved? They had the violet flame. Jesus did impart it to them. Why did they have to wait two thousand years?

"I will tell you, beloved. In the very first instance, it was because they did not seek and attain the bonding to the heart of Jesus Christ and [to the heart of] their own Holy Christ Self to that level that is sufficient for the permanent bonding and the walking the earth as the Christed one. "Yes, beloved, there are other reasons [why some of the] disciples who were there then would have to come now, and [the most compelling] is [that they might] carry that flame of [individual] Christhood in this day. But there were others among them and among the other seventy who made the choice to withhold the full power of love that you saw in John the Beloved. And therefore, [they missed the cycle] by an absence of love and of an excessive love, an excessive love, beloved. An excess of love is the requirement, a heart full of love that is pouring out that love and that essence of the Blood of Christ to Christ and to one another who are the disciples.

"There must be the removing of the barriers, I say! There must be the understanding that you do not need to read five hundred pages to get the message of the mystical path of the ancients. That is why you are God-taught through the Messenger—so you can put that message into your cup and you can [drink it and] digest it.

"But how can this come about if you do not place your God-controlled attention upon the subject long enough and thereby contact not only the teaching but the Teacher behind the teaching and Sanat Kumara behind that Teacher and the Great Central Sun with Alpha and Omega behind Sanat Kumara? [Thus, by means of the Teacher and the teaching,] you go straight to the Source. And you do Djwal Kul's Breathing Exercise and you give your pranayama and you give adoration to the Mother. And soon you find that God is inhabiting your temple, the Light is rising!

"And you will come to that moment one day, either here or in as many lifetimes hence as is your choice, when you will have that inner knowing. And the recall of that inner knowing from the lectures and the dictations given through the Messengers will be unto you simply the opening of the vastness of the Mind of God. And through a single lecture and dissertation, you may go beyond, to the point of the nucleus of the original release from the heart of the great Manus of the dispensation for that world religion."

"And so I have instructed the Messenger to give advanced training to those who have balanced 51 percent of their karma that they might realize how easy it is for a chela on the Path or anyone to lose ground in a moment of thoughtlessness—of nonthinking, of doing too many things at once. All of these things count, beloved, in the ledger of life, and they determine whether you will be in the black or in the red.

"Therefore, we will begin to give certain lessons to you who would balance 100 percent of your karma. Otherwise, you shall be as blind men, not knowing which way to turn, not knowing which way is up, not knowing how to internalize the magnificence of your Christhood.

"This is no longer something you can toy with. Sons and daughters of God, making your ascension is a very serious matter.

"Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

"Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

"If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

"If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. I Corinthians 3:12-15

"Yes, you shall be tried by fire, but you shall also become the living fire. You will be accelerated. You will descend to the depths of hell with me for three days and three nights, and you will return to the levels of higher consciousness in the heaven-world."

"We are determined that all who hear these words, all who are in this activity, realize that this is an activity for those who sincerely desire the ascension, who will walk the Path, who will meet its requirements—who will not in any way resist that Truth!

" . . . It is not an activity for those who are the curious or those who, like Nicodemus, are fascinated with the teaching—and their fascination is not love, but it is curiosity."

"I will tell you why I have come: because within this room is a single candidate for the ascension.

"Therefore, I AM magnetized by a single heart. And thus, I bow before the light of the ascension flame in that disciple who now bears both the promise and the opportunity of accelerated initiation.

"One will say, 'Is it I, Lord?' And another will say, 'It is I.' And someone will say, 'It is not me!'

" . . . Candidacy for the ascension comes because of many incarnations of striving, personal self-discipline, and a love that cares for God more than self—more than selfishness or self-concern or the little discords of the moment that eat away like rats at the fabric of the immortal garment.

"Understand, then, that it is a precarious moment, for there is no guarantee that the candidate will succeed. Yet I must say that to receive a candidate for the ascension in full ceremony, I must have the assurance at Luxor that that one has vested within himself the awareness of the Godhead and its potential to dwell bodily in him.

"The individual must sense himself worthy to be a co-creator with God and to contain the God flame of the chela that can hold the balance with the God flame of the Guru.

"At the moment of this candidacy, beloved heart, the one who is disciple is no longer called 'disciple' but 'friend.' Therefore, let the friend appear. Let the friend arise!

" . . . Beware false humility! Beware false pride! Beware that you wear the garment of diligence, purity, and love.

"All things can be attained by diligence, purity, and love.

" . . . Purity contains all of the wisdom of God, for that which is pure is the all-knowing mind. That which is pure contains the all-power of God, for purity is strength. 'My strength is as the strength of ten, because my heart is pure.'

"Purity is the light—the light, O the light! One flashing brilliance, one moment of that light, and so you know who is God, who is yourself, who is thy neighbor, who is the friend. Who indeed.

"Therefore, the quality of diligence in appropriating all of the virtues of purity and the foundation of the personal love of the Personal God. These three, these three—faith, hope, and charity—by any other name are still the essential virtues of Life."

"Beloved ones, if you will ask the Messenger if she will make her ascension in this life, the Messenger will tell you, 'That is in God’s hands. I do not know. I could make a mistake and that mistake could cost me my ascension.'

"Therefore, you see, the same is true at the community level. Each member of the community of this Mystery School world-wide, every Keeper of the Flame in every city and town and hamlet the world around can elect to be a pillar in the mighty temple that ultimately will become physical here at Maitreya’s Mystery School if there are those who will tend the flame in the very center of that temple.

"Beloved ones, nothing is secure until you make it secure with the totality of your life—the totality of your commitment. Therefore, do not be moved from your calling but recognize that, whether you have known it or not, the Ascended Master El Morya has contacted every last one of you in some way or another. And whether by density or inattentiveness or wax in the ears or dullness in the brain or the surfeiting of the senses or the saturating of the molecules of self with the wrong kind of music, you at first may not have been able to tune into his wavelength, yet you were called. You have been called, one and all, and sponsored by El Morya! You have been called, beloved!

"You may say, 'Yes, I shall continue. No, I shall not continue.' Let it be yes or no, but do not be found in that foul state, the in-between state of indecision."

"I address you, my beloved, as lilies of the field—and that for a cosmic purpose: it is the purpose of your ascension in the Light. For this is the true commemoration of the Word where I AM THAT I AM in your midst. I commemorate the place that is marked by the sign of the cross of white fire, by the sign of every cross of every hero and heroine of all ages—in Flanders Field, on every battleground and beachhead celebrated in this hour as the point of courage of the hearts of those who have stood for truth, for freedom, and for peace.

"I celebrate the sign of that cross repeated again and again as the inner matrix of the love of the Father/Mother God, positioned as your own marker in time and space signifying the point when and where heaven and earth shall meet in thy life. For it is preordained—if thou will it so. If thou wilt fulfill the divine plan according to that Will that is become thine own, then the cosmic cycle shall turn and you shall be at the point of Light which I celebrate."

Persevere! And You Shall Win!

"Gracious ones, persevere! And you shall win! The challenge to every chela, every would-be initiate, to all who would come under our disciplines is given herewith. Persevere! And you shall win!

"The thought of merger with the Divine ought to be a blessed goal wherein all can shine. Competition and the vain spirit of egocentricity have no place in our disciplines; for one must work unswervingly for a purpose and devote oneself to the fulfillment of that purpose.

"The power to see the Promised Land vouchsafed of old to Moses as he came out of Egyptian bondage is one which to modern-day men and women must report the challenges of the times and make them aware of the need to persevere—to persevere in all that is of the past so that the untransmuted and banal aspects thereof may become vanquished in the name of victory;
to persevere in the present hour when the drabness of appearances and the seeming slowness of pace does not temper the zeal of the fire of the heart; to persevere in the future by a glorious hope that refuses to leave the screen of the mind; to persevere at all times and to win.

"There are those whose beings, like bones bleached upon the desert, strew the landscape because they did not persevere. They thirsted when no water was available and they could not find within their souls the power to seek it although it may have been nigh, even at hand. There are those whose steadfastness wanes when victory is at the very door. There are those who do not understand the mercy of God. It has been said, 'His mercy endureth forever;' <1> and if we are to act the part of those who believe in the rewards of the Most High God, we must see His mercy as enduring for us, a flame of compassion that tempers circumstance to ability and power to manifest the law of victory for each one.

"If you could see at inner levels, as we do, the power of holy example as it was made known to The Karmic Board where individuals surmounted most frightful circumstances to become victors, you would recognize that often, by comparison measurement, your own struggles are but those of an ant seeking to reach a nearby anthill. Men and women of today, recognize that the challenges of the past in a chameleon form are with you still.

"There is no difference between the challenges of this hour and those of the past save that you have a greater comfort for your physical being. The weaknesses brought upon mankind by soft living this past century have framed for him a weaker physical body in many cases and a mind that could not have endured the struggles which your forebears did. Yet there are challenges before you which they did not know.

"We are aware of the changes in the times, yet the psyche of man, the soul, remains the same. You are you; and it is your destiny to climb upward on the walls so perpendicular and slippery as to be impossible to a mountain climber, so that you can climb up out of the cup of mortal density and a lack of realization, until as you peer over the brim and behold the mighty Cosmos whose throbbing heart is all around you, you will not be staggered by the vision which you see but will say, 'I as God will win and persevere!'

"You must rest in the arms of Almighty Bliss. You must be consumed by the fires of victory and be willing to relinquish your hold upon that parcel of ground which you claim as your own. You must see the vast sky of infinity stretching boundless in all directions. You must see there a perfection of great care, and loving and watchful service whereby, although it does not always seem to be to your mortal mind and to appearances, there is a compassionate and watchful eye over you every hour of the day and the night, and the wings of the morning are spread in their eternal brightness upon the mountains.

"And 'neath those wings there is a glow-ray that casts its glow upon the terrain beneath; and as you behold those wings, the raising power of the great sun may in some cases remember the lofty and ancient Egyptian call 'Holy art Thou, O Aton, Thou God of Oneness!'

"Now you may wonder why I have spoken of a mechanical doctrine involving the ascension and of the great error in this doctrine, but I shall attempt here to put it into focus for you so that you may be on guard to maintain a correct understanding of the ascension.

"For thoughts, precious ones, are indeed things, as one of your poets has said, and the treasures that we would have you gather are the treasures of victorious accomplishment and divine truth. Error has no power except that to which mankind dedicate themselves, supposing that they serve the cause of truth and freedom. Jesus referred to this when he said, 'If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!' I am come to expand the light, and this we seek to do here concerning the ascension.

"The statement beloved Jesus made long ago concerning the kingdom of heaven reading thus, 'The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force,' enters into many areas of doctrine. And therefore, I would interpret to you that the mechanical sense of attainment is usually behind the violence of mankind who seek to force their way of spiritual grace and their unfolding divinity through the erroneous supposition that the secrets of the universe can be mechanically mastered, including the ascension itself.

"Now, I am certain that you recognize that a carpenter may master the art of construction, that an electrician may direct on the pathway of wires the flow of the current to do the bidding of man, that the construction of matter and substance may be understood by the physicist, that the employment of this material substance may be directed by the wise among mankind and knowledge disseminated to those having lesser wisdom.

"In the religious field the comparatively few actually circulate the doctrine of the mechanical ascension at the present time, but I am interested in having our students well rounded in their understanding of truth. There are times when it is wise to point out the doctrines of error so that the sincere are not led into byways of delusion where loss of time and energy occurs and the karmic responsibilities of misleading others also enters into the picture.

"For usually when individuals become tethered to wrong thought they are not aware of the nature of the thought and thus presume it to be light and truth. Believing thusly, they do not hesitate to impart their knowledge to others, who may have less comprehension than they do and be misled to a greater degree, all of which could become a karmic responsibility of the one who misleads the other.

"Let me clearly indicate to you the power of divine grace and how mankind, through infinite and holy prayer—an 'infinite prayer' being the great inward groanings of the soul, and 'holy prayer' being the conscious implorations to Deity made with the purity of right concepts—may draw forth from the Godhead the grace that is sufficient for every hour, that will expand the light and consciousness to such Christlike proportions as will literally draw God-awareness into the individual focus of consciousness, enabling each one to rise, not only through the balancing of karma—through overcoming error—but also spiritually through the attainment of the fullness of God's gift of divine Sonship, the right-you-all (or ritual) of the ascension whereby the Sun-ray of individual being is drawn up the ladder of light to the Great Sun Source.

"I do not deny that some have attained to the powers of the kingdom of heaven through an attempted action of rote and what we might term partial elements of cosmic science. Yet in all such cases, because the grace of God is greatly absent and the power and pressure of individual attainment is utilized rather than 'Thine is the power', such a one must sometime, somewhere painstakingly retrace each stitch of partial accomplishment until all is properly placed, by divine grace, in the garments of the High Priest (True Being).

"Let all recognize, then, that mere mechanics are not the prime requisite in the knowledge of God, but the pure power of love is the perception of the Infinite. The Creator's expanding love will enter into every area of life, when invited, until the temple is flooded with such ineffable light as will automatically raise every facet of your life into its victory and freedom."

"And therefore there is strife, division, criticism, and all manner of that mortal consciousness so devious as to captivate the soul in these sockets of time and space and the stickiness of karma that will not let go until you transcend its plane and discover yourself somewhere else—the point of Light. Then nothing, nothing can hold you back! Though you may yet carry that pack of karma on your back awaiting the cycles of its transmutation, beloved ones, you are free! You know the I AM is in you and with you and not alone above you. You act in the name of God, on behalf of God, as God, for you are God!

"This awareness, then, can be yours preceding the full balancing of your karma. Hasten the day, I say! Meditate as you are taught. Remind yourself of the flame of Luxor. Paint a picture of it with your own hand. Put it above your bed where you will see it once a day, just as a reminder to think of me and my own as we stand on the points of that geometric star-formation surrounding that mighty central focus. Beloved ones, there are manifold stars interconnected in a divinely geometric pattern. And thus, those with greater and lesser Light may stand closer or farther from the central flame on the points of these interpenetrating stars.

"Beloved ones, all who are invited to attend the ritual of an individual ascension in the Light are invited because they are ready to participate in the experience, which adds unto each one something more of the measure of the ascended one. Think of any one here in your midst. Would it not be a great joy to gather round at Luxor as this disciple or chela, this brother or sister you have known for so many years, should stand in the center of that flame? It is the unspeakable joy. It is worth the striving, worth pressing through, pushing on, knowing the Goal is before you.

"You must have a constant reminder of your goals. When you look at the whitened obelisk, reminiscent of the alabaster of the City of Light on ancient Atlantis, it ought to remind you of Luxor. But perhaps you think only as far as this nation's capital without remembering that there is a threefold flame."

"Now in this hour of our communion, I draw you to the etheric octave and my retreat in Kashmir. It is the place where Jesus often stays. And from that point we send out the Call that all souls of Light who have had attainment on earth, who have known the bonding to the living Christ (as those of the golden age on Atlantis under Jesus Christ did) might have in this hour and day the opportunity for the fulfillment of their mission unless, of course, that mission requires them to return again to earth. For we must not, as has been said, skim off all of the cream in one dispensation.

"Therefore we search by the Mind of God all souls who are destined to have the victory in this hour. We start with this room and with concentric rings of souls upon souls who are a part of this activity and those beyond it who have managed to increase Light and hold it in this life.

"Blessed ones, we come up with a certain million of souls on earth who could be ready and could take their ascension at the conclusion of their present life. This would be a great boon to the planet and set the momentum for that path. The great boon, of course, would also be that they should be in the earth and set the example and become with us world teachers.

"By the grace of God and our Lord Maitreya and Manjushri, I share the office of World Teacher with our beloved Jesus the Christ. We, then, have called for you to become world teachers, to take our training at Maitreya's Mystery School in Montana, to know the disciplines of the Path, to come into alignment with that Holy Christ Self and to surely be the loving presence of the heavenly hosts unto all whom you meet.

"May you desire to increase in the presence of the Holy Spirit! May you know that aura of Love.

" . . . Think of those things that you have accomplished or acquired in life, whether knowledge or the world's goods or friendships or whatever has been your desire. Think of how when you have fulfilled your desires you have somehow neutralized the desire itself. And so there does come a time when you no longer need that certain thing or someone or situation to give you happiness or a sense of completeness. It is finished. Now you have the same energy to seek, to fulfill the desiring of the God within you.

"I know, for I have trained novices, neophytes, and those well advanced on the Path that it is an unwritten law that each one gets what he wants in life. For the want is the sense of absence of something that becomes the desire to have it.

"Now then, can you not see how many things life has brought to you to fill in every need of your heart and mind?

"Will you not feel, then, the completeness of God within you even though you yourself may not feel complete?

"May you lean upon that wholeness, love that wholeness that God is and enter it. And may you conclude this series of lectures and dictations by a reexamination of your goals and the focus of your heart.

"Precious is the light of the mind! Precious is the light of the eye and the third eye! Do not waste it with attention on outer things and TV and everything that passes through the day.

"Look within! Let the energy build. Let the Light of the Divine Mother ascend upon the altar of your being. Be a concentrated center of Light and make yourself a representative of the Great White Brotherhood where you are. Be God's rep where you work and serve and where you live, but tell no one. Just be it.

"May you know the one great quality that is sought after that comes from the auric rings of Maitreya and his true bodhisattvas. It is the quality of kindness, almost overlooked in this hurried world, almost thought of as unnecessary.

"Yet what do you remember most about anyone? A kindness, a gesture, a sincere concern, a practical helpfulness, a perception of your need before you yourself know it.

"Kindness, beloved, is an aura of strength. Until you encounter someone who has that full-bodied flame, which surely relates to Maitreya, you may not even know just what the fullness of the cup of kindness can be.

"I speak of this, for it is well for the student on the Path to select a virtue and in selecting the
virtue that he will make his own, his signet and his mark in life, study the course of Maitreya and the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas as to what they consider to be the most essential element whereby the blessed tie can be made from their hearts to those who suffer—suffer by their misconceptions, suffer by many things that have been told to them by false teachers, a tangled web of deception that must be untangled and cast into the fire.

"Yes, beloved, understand that the kindness of the Buddha is an all-encompassing, all-enfolding aura. May you long to have it because you desire, in the spirit of Lord Ling, to bring the flame of God-happiness to all.

"Many, many people are not happy, beloved. They surely are miserable in their souls yet cannot even articulate what pain they experience in aloneness. People who are surrounded by many yet feel unloved, for they do not love themselves as God-they have needs.

"I ask you to begin to rejoice in the givingness of self that meets the very specific need of anyone or everyone who is near you. This is the mark and the sign of a true teacher. You do not have to be perfected in elocution or the delivery of the Word, but you must be effective in opening up the heart and releasing that kindness, which all will feel no matter how limited your powers of speech or your vocabulary.

"When I was embodied as Saint Francis I did not always have the power of speech. It grew
upon me and in me. As I communed with all levels of life—the animal kingdom, the birds and the flowers—I began to know a language of love. And in the imparting of love and the multifaceted vibrations of love, I would tune in to the particular note, the wavelength, that would summon the forces of elemental life and I would see the aura and the rejoicing.

"Yet I myself had moments of great burden and sorrow as I moved through life and sought to perfect the order. At the end, beloved, I thought I had failed, failed to convince my brethren that the vow of poverty and Mother Poverty herself would give the greatest virtue and foundation to the Church.

"Thus, beloved, so it does occur even in the life of one who might be considered a saint that karma does descend, that the dark night of the soul takes its season and toll. And the Dark Night of the Spirit is the blackest night of all."

"My beloved ones, I come to you in the historical stream of Israel, of Sanat Kumara, of the twelve tribes, of the I AM Race, of those who are come to be priests and priestesses of the sacred fire. I come to you with an intense understanding of the history of the United States. And I admonish you all to study that history; for it is a history not merely of those who are past, but it is a history
of the unfoldment of the Word, even as sacred scriptures East and West and in the Old and New Testaments unveil the history of the individual soul and the overcoming of every foe and fantasy of illusion that would beset the path of the Light-bearer.

"I come to remind you of a spiritual heritage and of the founding of a great nation. I come to remind you that you are called to hold a nucleus of Light in the heart of America, a magnet in that Inner Retreat that will be as a Great Central Sun Magnet sending forth the rays, even the heart’s rays, of the devotion of Akhenaten in your own Lanello—being pathways of light that souls might find the way to their own God Presence and to that place upon earth consecrated to the ascension of the Woman and her seed!

"I come to remind you that in the hour of the release of great Light of the ascension of Godfre, war and the engines of war as they had never been seen upon earth were moving through Europe. And therefore, he took that ascension as the supreme sacrifice for the victory of America. Therefore, the holding of the line of the twin flame Lotus through those years was the 'as-above-so-below' necessary.

"Beloved hearts of Light, the fallen ones were present, the black magicians in Europe. And they were exposed. They came to the fore. And by the Light of the Word of the I AM, by the perpetual prayer, the dynamic decrees of the students, there was the staying action of the hand of God and the deliverance of this nation from a great darkness that could have covered the land.

"We see, then, that the statement by Lotus of those vicious forces seeking to manifest in America and the world was prophetic, not only of those years of World War II but of the period which followed and is mounting even to the present hour. You can see that since that hour, beloved hearts, there has come upon earth a new kind of war—a warfare of Armageddon.
And as your own Solzhenitsyn says, the Third World War has been fought and lost! And indeed it may be said. For the fallen ones have found new ways to conquer souls—through drugs, through the eruption of the entire astral plane upon America and the world.

"And so we have seen in the decades that followed that Second World War, not the rising up of ascended master youth but the putting down of that youth by the fallen angels and the Watchers who remain abroad in the land and at inner levels—and who, day by day, are being brought to the judgment by your calls that are fervent and determined and most necessary. Blessed ones, we are seeing now in this decade of 1980 the results of the misuse, the misapplication of the very light that came forth as a cosmic dispensation. Whereas some have ascended and the requirements of the Law have been fulfilled and amplified again by this activity of light, there has also been a misuse of that light and, if you will, a miscarriage of justice.

"That miscarriage has occurred in the institutions of education, of society, of the economy
where the light has not flowed to the people but rather has been usurped by the fallen ones in everything from outright war in Vietnam, to welfare, to indulgence, to that humanism that is called “scientific” that has entered the public schools by an emphasis upon sex—not as the raising of the sacred fire, but as the squandering of that light.

"If you will study those three books, you will realize and see that the dispensations and teachings that were given were such a threat to the fallen ones that they evolved entire systems—from marijuana to sensitivity training to all sorts of experimentations with the human body and the chakras—to siphon off the light, to deter souls of Light from their I AM Presence, to take from them that energy of the crown chakra and of the heart and of the Word itself, to divert it, to amplify and amplify again the miscreations of the lower chakras. And therefore we have seen the rise of genetic engineering and pollution by the misuse of the light of chemistry, which again is the misuse of the light of Alpha and Omega in the fiery core of every atom of Matter substance.

"It would be interesting for you indeed to realize this battle of Armageddon that has been
carried on since the hour of Godfre’s ascension. And you will understand, therefore, how point/counterpoint there has been the reversing of this dispensation of light and how again,
with the coming of the teachings and of Omega’s dispensation exposing the false hierarchy and giving forth the Mother’s manifestos—once again there is that point/counterpoint whereby the counterrevolution of the fallen ones has been countered again by the ascended hosts of Light and many among you who are here for the deliverance of the age! And the deliverance and fulfillment of all that was begun in the I AM activity and this activity is therefore come to pass!

"Thus, beloved hearts, with the knowledge of the Law and the spreading abroad of that teaching, many hearts who may not yet entirely accept the path of the ascension are coming
into an affirmation of the Word that is given. Some may agree, finally, that marijuana is harmful.
Some may agree that there ought to be a return to the gold standard in America. Some may
agree that more stringent laws regarding crime ought to be enacted. And therefore, you see,
each agreement of that which we recommend from the ascended octaves is, in fact, an affirmation of the Great White Brotherhood and of the ascended masters."

"Engaging in the ascension process is following the natural course of spiritual evolution. The Ascended Master Lanello tells us, 'You ascend daily!' Each day life tests the seeker. All thoughts, feelings and deeds from the present and from past lives count for or against the ascension. In taking progressive steps on the spiritual path, one ultimately finds one’s way back to the heart of God and enters the eternal life. In the end, success depends on the individual.

"The Ascended Master Serapis Bey expresses this idea well: 'You need not expect, precious ones, that as the swoop of a great bird of paradise, heaven will come down to you and raise you instantly up into the light. Each day you weave a strand of light substance back to the heart of your Presence by the shuttle of your attention; each strand strengthens the anchor beyond the veil and thus draws you into a state of consciousness wherein God can use you more as an effective instrument for good.

"The ascension process is like an ascent up a pyramid. In Mexico, Egypt and the Yucatan, a person can spend days climbing the ruins of the pyramids, with each step taking them closer to the top.

"The pyramid we climb daily is not made of stone but of light, the pure essence of divinity. It is the pyramid of the ascension. Thoughts, feelings and actions are all steps by which we climb toward the apex of this pyramid. Approaching the top, the pyramid’s steps grow narrower and there are fewer and fewer right choices.

"Ascending the steps is not done all at once but rather on an incremental basis. Life is not always a constantly ascending process. In other words, one may not climb steadily up the pyramid each and every day. Perhaps there is a pause to catch one’s breath. Or a climber may actually stumble and slide down a step or two. There may even be times when he feels he is not moving upward at all. But progress eventually resumes and the climber is on his way again. Steady upward movement will eventually lead toward the wonderful divine union with God.

"Although progress may sometimes seem intangible, it is helpful to remember that we are on earth because our karma dictates that this is the best place to be. It is appropriate to consider yourself as an unascended being striving to make your ascension. The messenger Mark Prophet said that we have to recognize that if God wanted us up in heaven right this minute, we would be there and not here. We are on earth because the most practical place for us to be in our present state of evolution is in physical embodiment. We have lessons to learn. We have a bright world to conquer or a world to make bright. We have spiritual responsibilities; we have material responsibilities. And we must fulfill our mission as Christ fulfilled his."

"Working the works of him that sent me, as Christ said and did, is the action of the third ray, the third rung of Life—yet so often bypassed. See how they have replaced perfect Love with mechanization man, with the pride of the ego, with ambition—all of these perversions of Love and of its sweetest colorations.

" . . . Precious hearts, these lesser loves then become, once they are accepted, a matter of human habit patterns. And once people enter into the rote of human love they do not consider again, often in decades or lifetimes, a higher path, a more intense spiral. And like the proverbial rut those human habit patterns make deeper and deeper trenches."

"And the ascension, after all, is the goal of Life for every lifestream on earth. But who would want to ascend before doing all those things that are necessary to the realization of one's divine plan, those things that are joyous, that contribute to the building of the self and the building of one's character and the building of one's Causal Body on earth as it is in heaven?

"I tell you, beloved ones, very few would like to make their ascension without having done everything they could possibly do to make this world a better place. And first and foremost, the best thing you can do to make this world a better place is to raise up a focus of The Summit Lighthouse in your town (wherever two or three gather in my name and in the name of Maitreya) and to visualize that beacon as a pathway that leads all Home to their Mighty I AM Presence.

"Then give your calls to El Morya on the fourth of the month for twenty-four hours and see to it that your group is running a decree marathon on that day and that you are giving every last erg of energy and strength and breath you have to your beloved El Morya. For you do not realize what El Morya can do for you in return that will take him far less time and entanglement in the human consciousness to accomplish than it would take you."

" . . . You must not disturb the mighty divine vibrations which God has planted within your hearts as a seed of light. You must keep that steady, rock steady, quiet, pure and holy until it externalizes itself and then it is diamond hard. This is a great law.

O mankind, do not expect that after millions of years of living in human consciousness that when you are first given these great laws you shall immediately become ascended masters or cosmic beings. It is not that we would not have it so. It is that there is a gestation period but during that period, blessed ones, you must work at it as Saint Germain did.

"You must determine that you are going to be victorious. You must yourselves express the desire and then you must do something about it."

"The ascension flame as the flame of the hope of the Divine Mother, beloved, is a communicator and a receiving station of communication with all worlds in the Matter cosmos and worlds above. For this flame is pure light! light! light! light! light! that expands as from the Goddess of Light, the Queen of Light, and the Goddess of Purity. These beings with myself, beloved, and others of the Archeiai and the ladies of heaven have appeared to many a child as a fairy godmother, as a fairy queen with trooping elementals.

"And do you know, this is the greatest delight of little children, and they love to hear stories of fairy queens and fairy godmothers and goddesses. It is because we carry this flame of white fire, divine hope, and the child can see the pattern of the ascent.

"Thus, if you would wear the garment that heals on contact, beloved, know that this garment must be free from psychicism, which is the antithesis of hope and the ascension flame, free of Death and Hell and astral substance. And psychicism, beloved, is not merely the mark of those who go after the spirits that mutter and peep and other sources of lower entities for their daily guidance. It is much more than this, beloved. It includes the idolatrous cult, the selfish self, the self engaged in too much misuse of the sacred fire and expending of the life-force.

The fire of the ascension flame, beloved, as hope, does indeed therefore bring to you the quickening of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, especially all discernment of spirits that is coming through Paul the Venetian and the Holy Spirit. Understand, then, that it is the white flame of purity that enables you to know exactly the vibrations that come upon you or upon the earth. The all-knowing Mind of God is truly present in the flame of purity."

"Beloved Clara Louise was and is an inspiration to me on the Path of Life. She is the twin flame of Amen Bey, brother in the temple of Serapis Bey . . . Through the hand of the first Mother of the Flame, from the Lord of the World, came the dispensation for all of us to carry on. And the dispensation is a path of wisdom and of the teachings for the teaching of all of the world's children.

"The torches must always be passed. One day you will pass a torch. The most important thing to remember about the passing of a torch is that the torch is a flame that burns. It is composed of many, many millions of flames. And each one of those flames is a petal—a petal of light and sacred fire.

"As you go into the central sun of your Mighty I AM Presence and form and fashion your torch of Life, you will want to be certain, as those who have gone before us are certain, that the torch will contain all that the one who follows you on the Path will need in order to make it all the way Home.

"I have mentioned to you that our beloved Mark signed my own copy of Climb the Highest Mountain with the words 'May you win all the way.' It is not enough that we wish victory upon someone, or winning. We want them to win all the way, every step of the way—not just today but to the hour of the ascension.

"Every guru is concerned for the blessed chela—that he make it all the way home, else the Path should be in vain. Therefore you must be concerned for the chela you do not yet know, for the master you are to become—that even now you are forging a torch that you will one day pass. And when it comes time to pass the torch, there will be no time to say, 'Wait a minute, I must create the torch.' The torch must be there and burning.

"The torch of Gautama Buddha, Clara Louise, and our own beloved Lanello were there—just seven weeks before his ascension. That very year of 1973, Summit University opened on a full-time basis—out of that torch. And all who have passed through its halls are free to ratify the will of God and receive one petal of the torch, one petal—flame that becomes a nucleus of your own torch to be passed in the hour and the appointing."

When men fail to progress it is always because there is imbalance in the threefold flame of life. The life that beats your hearts is a triad of motion."

For now is the time for sowing and reaping magnificent karma that will thrust you either into your ascension or into rebirth in the New Age, when all types of opportunity will become available to you to make your final contribution to earth . . . Let us, then, get on with our challenging of mediocrity wherever it rears its head."

It is the place where Jesus often stays. The great boon, of course, would also be that they should be in the earth and set the example and become with us world teachers.

" . . . O minister to life, beloved, and more! Now embark upon your true mission to be world teachers. If you desire to place yourselves under our tutelage, come to the ranch if you will. And if you cannot, study where you are. But be assured that when you apply to us, we will begin that course and direct you in the ways of the training that you need. And if you call to us, we will see to it that you will encounter every individual on earth whom your karma requires you to contact and give the gift of understanding.

"Is not the gift of understanding the gift of kindness?

"Aye, it is. Surely it is.

"Is there no greater unkindness than to leave someone in ignorance?"

"Beloved, I have much to say. But I am come chiefly to deliver in you a fire that will devour your human selfishness, your human indulgence and your human nonsense! These three enemies cause me to place my hands over my ears and cry, Halt! Halt! I will hear none of this foolish chatter! Get on with the saving of a world if you intend to one day be an Ascended Master."

"Yes, indeed, beloved, understand that you are living in a time when God has said: 'I would harvest my souls, the seven. I would harvest those of the Maha Chohan, for they are worthy.'
And many in this hall are worthy in this very moment to come up higher. God has called you. Have you heard him? Have you listened? Is the pain too great? And therefore do you shut it off, seal it off and say, 'I will stand where I am?' Well, it is not possible, beloved, for the Law requires you to accelerate. And if you do not choose to accelerate, then you will go down in a downward spiral. And what will become of you?

"We do not take chances with our chelas. There are those of you whose timetables have come. You have earned your victory, you have earned your ascension. You have asked to retain and carry and hold the balance, and this has been a magnificent service even to this messenger. But I tell you, beloved, you cannot afford to stand still. That is the greatest mistake that any of you could ever make: 'I will wait till tomorrow, I will wait till next week. I will do this thing first, I will do that thing.'

"Well, do you know, beloved, that the planets in their courses have appointed rounds? And if you are students of astrology, you know that seconds and minutes make the difference as to what that astrology in your chart may be. Thus you see, beloved, in a sense you are prisoners of your karma but you are also prisoners of the Godhead. And the Godhead will not receive you if you do not understand that there is atonement to be met. Atonement means 'at-one-ment with God' and it also means 'to atone'—to atone for karma, to atone for sin or disease or death or all those things that you have carried as baggage through the centuries.

"The centuries are heavy; the end of the Piscean age is heavy. But you have come to this place and you feel the lightness and you say to yourselves, 'What is this lightness?' The lightness is the combination of all the causal bodies of all of you gathered in this hall. Can you imagine what this might mean to the Darjeeling Council of the Great White Brotherhood, what this might mean to all souls in heaven, on earth and throughout the planetary home?

"There is great meaning in this. It means that some are truly chosen. Some may take their ascension because they have lived through their lives, whether for other reasons, and so on. Beloved ones, if you are called to heaven you must accept that calling, for you do not know when the cycles will turn again, even though you say to yourself, 'I will stay and stay and stay.' Well, perhaps, beloved, some group of souls, many thousands or even hundreds of thousands of souls, are waiting for you."

"Beloved hearts, if you move with those who do not seek the ascension in this life, you may be taken down by them. So watch and pray, beloved, that you are not unduly influenced by those who do not have the liberating, spiraling energy that goes back to the Great Central Sun and carries you there with it."

"Beloved, the highest priority is the ascension. The assignment at hand is the means—the means for the preparation of all faculties. To accomplish, therefore, this current assignment and not to see it as the means to the end is a pity. This preparation is not an end in itself. War or non-war is not an end in itself. War is the means whereby the individual may show his courage and what he is willing to give to pay the price, even to buy time for his countrymen and even to lay down his life for that purpose.

"We remember! We remember Sparta and Thermopylae, and so should you. Will you be the thousand or two thousand or five or ten [of whom it will be said,] 'They held the pass'?

"What is this pass, after all, beloved? Is it not the pass that you hold and do not give up and maintain that is the means whereby many evolutions may pass over into the Mystery School, into the Teaching, into self-mastery? Consider, then, that you hold the pass for evolutions who are not yet ready for the sacrifices required and who do not particularly desire the victory that is to be gained."

"May you build carefully, stone upon stone, the pyramid of your life. This was the teaching [of the adepts] of the Great Pyramid [that was outpictured in] the many pyramids that we built in various civilizations of Atlantis. The four sides, being the four lower bodies that must converge at the point of the All-Seeing Eye, must synthesize as one vessel, even the chalice of the Holy Grail.

"I have looked upon America and I have wept, for I have seen in the collective karma of the reincarnated Atlanteans here the same pitfalls that I found in my own karma. I could not come here free to rise as a servant of God but must pay every jot and tittle.

"America is beset with the karma that the nation has made since its inception two centuries ago. It is beset with ancient records of Atlantis not yet paid. And it is bowed down by a false teaching that is not that of the Christ concerning this karma, concerning accountability."

"Fear not to enter in to thy divinity. Fear not to enter in to thy divine calling. Fear not the mantle which the Mother does place upon thy shoulders. Fear not the mantle, as Elisha feared it not and Moses feared it not and Maitreya feared it not and Jesus feared it not and Gautama feared it not. And, you see, those who have feared it have no names, for they have gone down without divinity of awareness.

"All of whom we speak as the great revolutionaries of the Spirit—they have dared to wear the mantle with dignity and honor and trust, that in the folds of its generous garment all things would be fulfilled in the order and the timing of the cycles of thy life.

"Thus, to desire inordinately, to be ambitious inordinately, to possess a will other than the will of God can only throw off the cycles of the divine union of the causal body of thy twin flame and thyself in all levels of being in heaven and on earth and in the very heart of hearts of the chakras."

"The ascension itself is the mark of achievement, the victory, and the single act that is
praiseworthy. If you do not graduate with your ascension, not only will your report card be marked 'failed,' but so will ours. For the teacher is also responsible—and so is the messenger.

"Thus, each one sent comes with a prayer that none of these little ones should be lost save the son of perdition. And who is the son of perdition? I tell you, he is not the bogeyman! He is not your worst enemy that you imagine to be nine feet tall. The son of perdition is the dweller on the threshold of your own house. It should be lost and rightfully so—and swiftly!

"But it is difficult to become a dragon-slayer when the age of chivalry has long passed. Some find it a bit unpleasant to take up sword and slay the not-self. But in the meantime, while their stomachs are in too delicate a condition (and their egos as well) to perform this act, they themselves are being devoured by the dweller—dallying, marking time, and often drifting backwards with no realization. For in relativity, it sometimes appears one is going forward when one is standing still or moving backward.

"Thus, precious hearts, understand that the ascension is the acceptable offering. Those who do not truly want the ascension but want the power of the Light of Serapis Bey ought not to come. But these are the very ones who cannot be convinced to stay away, for they enjoy the lap of the Mother and need make no effort and become most angry when they are sent forth to prove their wisdom in action and thus balance the threefold flame!

"They must recognize once and for all that if they had mastery once or twice or thrice in a previous life, that full mastery should have long ago gained for them the eternal octaves of Light. What is wanting is always the absence of balance in the threefold flame. If it cannot be gained here, it must be gained in the wide opportunity of the world for professionalism and self-mastery.

"Some things are required of one, and some things of another. Resent not, then, the admonishments we give through the messenger. Our admonishments are only for the shortening of the days for the elect. Who are the elect? You are the elect! You have elected to enter a path, in the main, by trust, by determination, and by the elimination of possibilities; for you have wisely observed what the world has to offer. Not knowing, then, what you would encounter, you have nevertheless sought the Great White Brotherhood, sought the Ascended Masters, entered the school presenting itself to be ours (as so it is), and thus come in faith to seek and to find.

" . . . Why have we come in this century? Why are we here presenting the equation of Life? We come in the name of Serapis Bey, our chief. We come in the name of this Master. We come because it is required that there be a mystery school in the physical octave in this century, teaching the path of the ascension, where the only graduates from that school are Ascended
Masters.

"It is required that the Path be set, that there not be a mincing of words or indulgences, paid or unpaid, but there be the pure and simple Path demonstrated by ourselves and yourselves to keep this earth in its cosmic spin. We are proud in the true, humble sense of the word as we rejoice that there is indeed such a school in this time and space."

"Indeed, it is the initiates on the Path who are the ones who are discontent, who are the lonely ones, and who are never for a moment satisfied with their present condition. These expect and accept that situation as a given. They understand that life is an arduous climb and that life leading to the ascension, [the goal] toward which this conference is designed to prepare you, is life that must be lived like no ordinary life.

"Knowing the goal, seeing the face of the Shining One above you, knowing of your brothers and sisters beyond, knowing that behind you is completion and that other worlds attend your coming, you can live with the idea that you are different from the norm of the evolution of the given
planetary home where you have been residing.

"Thus, their psychology is not yours. Their wisdom is not yours. What works for them will not work for you. In fact, you will be miserable, truly in misery if you desire to live as such as these. Blessed ones, all of us who have taken our leave of planet earth in the ritual of the ascension have recognized ourselves as misfits prior to our ascension. And so did our peers so recognize [us].

"The wonder of Community, beloved, is that hearts with similar goals and determination may recognize in one another a friendship and a spirit of all ages. The road is not so lonely, although each one in his own heart is indeed alone with Sanat Kumara, with inner decisions, with the pains of letting go and perhaps the trepidation in embracing such a grand and noble sphere as the ultimate Presence of the Great White Brotherhood.

"Know, then, beloved, that if you desire to span the gap between present attainment and possibility and future realization, you must take the steps forward before you are ready. If you are ready, it is too late. You have already passed [up] the initiation for which you are ready. To see the right, to know the right and to do the right because you believe that God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit and the Divine Mother will assist you in filling in that span of time and space between present and future accomplishment, this, then, is the secret of the wise ones.

" . . . So, beloved, I will tell you what has impelled us to reach beyond our ability, and I speak of all the ascended hosts. It is because we saw a need so great and had such compassion for the one who had that need and saw that none other stood by to help that one, none other would come if we did not extend the hand. In that moment, beloved, Love itself supplied the intensity, the fire whereby we could leap to the rescue, to the side of [one in distress], or to enter some course of study that we might be proficient in knowledge that was needed.

"This process, then, this love that could forget itself and leap to save a life, this, beloved, was the opening for the great fire of the Holy Spirit to enter the heart, to dissolve recalcitrance there, to melt the impediments to those twelve petals and their unique vibration, to take from us hardness of heart, physical encrustations, disease, fear, doubt, records of death. All of these could vanish in the ardor of service. And in our desiring to do well we attracted the forces of Nature and heaven to assist us in doing well. In our determination to be only God-victorious we attracted God-victory to ourselves.

"Thus faint and trembling hearts, beloved, are so because they are weakened in their own self-concerns and self-pity. The strong heart, the virtuous heart, then, is born in that very process when all of God and all of life and all of soul and spirit within oneself simply leaps forward to rescue another part of life. Through the process of such initiation meted out to all as opportunity on the Path of the Ruby Ray, you mount the spiral from this plane to the plane of Holy Christ Selfhood. In so doing you create a magnet here below impelling the descent of your Christhood into this form. And so you walk the earth day by day with greater anointing.

" . . . I counsel you, then, beloved, for the sake of these as well as for the sake of the young souls in organized religion, that the path of your chelaship under the Ascended Masters so evince to the world the peace, the equanimity, the simplicity, the humility and [the] levels of self-mastery,
[with] kindness abounding, deep concern and care for others and [that] wisdom which when spoken is literally charged with our Presence and our Holy Spirit that they become encouraged and desirous by your example to know the intimate love of this Guru-chela relationship.

"To see in your lives such peace and happiness, such profound love that you have with an Ascended Master, this as example is the final way that we can see to woo the Lightbearers away from their human consciousness and into a path that will prove to them profitable day by day for their soul's liberation."

"Apart from all that surrounds you, there is that inner life and inner walk with God and there is that determination, above all, to attain [that] reunion [with your Mighty I AM Presence] in this life [which] is the victory of the ascension.

"I adjure you: never lose sight of the goal! For if you desire to help this planet and not to desert her in her hour of trouble, then remember, the Light [that] you carry prior to the ascension and after it is the means of effecting a great alchemy, a world chemicalization whereby the resurrection of the saints does take place, not as some of our Christian brothers and sisters view it but a resurrection as a resurgence of Light in the [physical] temple where[by] you walk the earth in physical bodies, yet bearing the flame of the resurrection, a spiral of mother-of-pearl radiance whereby the rainbow rays of God are emitted from you.

"The resurrection of the soul, then, is her restoration to the heart of the Inner Light, the Inner Christ, the Inner Buddha. The resurrection, then, is a goal to be realized not after death but before it. And it is the absorption of that Light of restoration whereby the Lord did say, 'Behold,
I make all things new.'"

"Thank God that you can balance but 51 percent of your karma and attain that union. And with that 51 percent balanced, beloved, you have also a new authority in the spoken Word.

"O blessed hearts, the planetary battle is fully engaged and I tell you now, already the fallen ones send their reinforcements from other systems. But they come, beloved ones, to a well-laid trap, for as they come you shall make the call, you shall send the word: 'In the name of Sanat Kumara, I demand the binding of every evil force in the earth this hour!'

"Thus, continue and continue and continue to support the angels who go to war for your sakes. And they sacrifice, beloved, and they may become wearied and wounded. And they go for their recharge to the retreat of Saint Michael the Archangel and they return again and they return again, beloved hearts. Pray for the angels, for they do battle with fallen ones who have the determination of those who know they go to the second death."

"Well, beloved, you need not take ten thousand more years to make your ascension. But I warn you and I warn you clearly: Jesus had twelve disciples. Only a few made their ascension in that lifetime; others waited two thousand years, [and some are still waiting].

"What made the difference, beloved? They had the violet flame. Jesus did impart it to them.
Why did they have to wait two thousand years?

"I will tell you, beloved. In the very first instance, it was because they did not seek and attain the bonding to the heart of Jesus Christ and [to the heart of] their own Holy Christ Self to that level that is sufficient for the permanent bonding and the walking the earth as the Christed one.

"Yes, beloved, there are other reasons [why some of the] disciples who were there then would have to come now, and [the most compelling] is [that they might] carry that flame of [individual] Christhood in this day. But there were others among them and among the other seventy who made the choice to withhold the full power of love that you saw in John the Beloved. And therefore, [they missed the cycle] by an absence of love and of an excessive love, an excessive love, beloved. An excess of love is the requirement, a heart full of love that is pouring out that love and that essence of the Blood of Christ to Christ and to one another who are the disciples.

"There must be the removing of the barriers, I say! There must be the understanding that you
do not need to read five hundred pages to get the message of the mystical path of the ancients. That is why you are God-taught through the Messenger—so you can put that message into your cup and you can [drink it and] digest it.

"But how can this come about if you do not place your God-controlled attention upon the subject long enough and thereby contact not only the teaching but the Teacher behind the teaching and Sanat Kumara behind that Teacher and the Great Central Sun with Alpha and Omega behind Sanat Kumara? [Thus, by means of the Teacher and the teaching,] you go straight to the Source. And you do Djwal Kul's Breathing Exercise and you give your pranayama and you give adoration to the Mother. And soon you find that God is inhabiting your temple, the Light is rising!"

"I have recently given to the Messenger at the level of her higher mind an overview of the
status of those who are in the Community here and throughout the world. And as I was giving
this overview, El Morya stepped forward and struck out four names on the list of chelas at headquarters. The Messenger watched and saw the Master draw the line through these four names, though she was not allowed to see the names in her outer mind.

"She realized that four members of this Community had gotten into a state of consciousness of being off center from the God Presence and had allowed themselves to move to the extreme right or left and to forget first things and first principles. Unless these individuals, who will have to find out who they are by their own pondering of their own hearts, take measures to return to the path of the Middle Way, they will not remain as candidates for the ascension in this life, though they would have been perfectly capable of making their ascension in this life. As it stands presently, then, their names have been struck from the list of candidates in this Community.

"We showed this to the Messenger because we are deeply concerned, deeply concerned that any of you here can rationalize as to why you are here, not understanding that it is for the path of karma yoga and that you engage in karma yoga through service to the Guru El Morya, which you balance with all the other responsibilities of your life.

"If you are one who finds it difficult to manage his time, his energy, his hours in or out of the workplace, I suggest that you consult a fellow chela who is an expert to show you how to structure your day, how to handle interruptions, phone calls, et cetera, and how to allocate certain times of the day for certain duties and responsibilities. There are some duties that you must take care of early in the day or the night before because others depend on you to give them direction first thing in the morning."

"You can make your ascension in this life. You must work hard and toil for it, but you can do it, beloved. And I ask you to make every effort to do so, for you do not know what may be coming upon the earth nor do we know. For things upon earth these days are wholly unpredictable.

"But what is predictable is your attitude. What is predictable is your love or nonlove to others. What is predictable is the power of God as shaft of royal blue descending into your temple. What is predictable is that the sun rises and the sun sets, and within those turning points of each day you have opportunity to become the living Christ and the living Buddha.

"Some of you have said: 'The ascension process is definitely not for me. I am not good enough.
I have not done enough. I will never do enough that I could possibly please my God.'

"This is the lie of the Liar himself. The possibility of your attaining union with God in this life is so nigh at hand that I have come and I have stepped down my vibration as close as I could possibly step it down that you might recognize at what level this messenger has stepped herself down. This we do, beloved, so that you can acquire that sensitivity to your own movement of light, your movement of light within your four lower bodies, the movement of light that causes you to accelerate.

"Now, beloved, there is condemnation in this world. And that condemnation comes from one source: it comes from out of the pit itself. It comes out of the fallen angels. It comes out of those who wish to destroy you, to put you down. Let us be done with it! Let us be done with it, I say. I am not willing to allow this condemnation, self-condemnation, to last another moment. And I ask you to jump to your feet, shake your arms, shake your legs and shake all that condemnation right out of you right now!"

"And my precious one present today, my beloved Anita Buchanan, who celebrates her ninetieth birthday, she does know the meaning of the days and the times and the seasons. It was she who, as Queen Isabella, did provide the funds for me to make that memorable voyage to the West Indies.

"Therefore I bow to this blessed soul of Light. And I give to her my love and my commitment for the hour of her victory. For surely the victory of my voyage of discovery was largely the result of her support. And that victory does come full circle each time I think upon it.

"Thus know that century upon century the saints have given and given. The saints made it possible for those of us who are now ascended to work the works that we had to work in our day. In the days when we were unascended, we reached our goal, we accomplished our ends because we had friends, beloved—friends such as you who are here today.

"And you who are here today can have a victory as great, as magnificent and as fulfilling as you determine to make it. On the one hand, heaven measures your victory by heaven's standard. But on the other hand, you gauge the measure of your own victory—the measure of your striving, the measure of your willingness to set aside the inner sorrow and the inner pain for the greater cause and to simply say:

"This day Saint Germain needs me.

"This day I hear his call as I awaken from sleep.

"And I will say again:

"Here am I, Lord. Speak, for thy servant heareth!"

" . . . For this 'bond of hierarchy,' this 'thread of contact' denotes the fragility of the divine experience when man is yet identified with and wedded to mortal form and consciousness.

"If men and women could enter into the etheric concept of God, the essence of the creation would be made known to them and there would be no need for the veil that presently exists in the temple of being between the Holy of Holies and the outer consciousness of man. Because the fashion of the times demands it individuals seek to follow the styles and trends of mortal thought and feeling. What a fraud is mere existential 'know nothingness' that seeks to raise itself up in the eyes of the universe.

" . . . There is a long trek across the parched deserts of self-testing and tribulation before the promised land of God-realization can be attained. The fires from on high must transmute and try the works of man who seeks to become that which God already is and which God forever holds as the perfect plan for every man."

"Men stay on the merry-go-round of human thought and feeling because they fear lest they fall off. But it will keep on going. So jump off the round of delusion and the mad whirl of human confusion. Come to Luxor, to the place where I AM.

" . . . You should love purity with an utter devotion because purity is your freedom. In fact when you step into the flame you find etched in fire and in crystal the permanent identity of the permanent atom of the permanent molecule of Being. And you find that all else is consumed."

Serapis Bey is the Chohan of the Fourth Ray (white ray) of Purity. Known as the great disciplinarian, Serapis trains candidates for the ascension at his retreat, the Ascension Temple, at Luxor, Egypt. This retreat is in the etheric octave, superimposed over the physical Temple of
Luxor on the Nile. Among those attending classes at Luxor are artists, musicians, sculptors, architects, planners, and the most staunch disciples of every ray.

Serapis Bey's devotion to the flame of purity is evidenced in his service throughout his embodiments on earth. These include: high priest in the ascension temple on Atlantis; Amenhotep III, Egyptian pharaoh (reigned c. 1417-1379 B.C.); Leonidas, king of Sparta (c. 480 B.C.); and Phidias, Greek sculptor (c. 490-430 B.C.). The Ascended Master Serapis Bey
initiates our souls in the flame of God-Harmony, charted on the six o'clock line of the Cosmic Clock under the solar hierarchy of Cancer.

His keynote is "Celeste Aida" by Verdi. The melody of the ascension flame is the "Triumphal
