The Great Karmic Board is an eight-member board of ascended beings whose
responsibility is to dispense justice to planet earth.
The members of the Great Karmic Board serve on the seven rays. They
are: the Great Divine
Director, the Goddess of Liberty,
the Elohim Cyclopea,
the Lady Masters Nada,
Pallas Athena,
Portia and Kuan
Yin.
On December 30, 1993 the
Dhyani Buddha Vairochana announced that
he had joined the Karmic Board.
the Great Divine Director on the First Ray,
the Goddess of Liberty on the Second Ray,
the Ascended Lady Master Nada on the Third Ray,
the Elohim Cyclopea on the Fourth Ray,
Pallas Athena, Goddess of Truth, on the Fifth Ray,
Portia, Goddess of Justice, on the Sixth Ray,
Kuan Yin, Goddess of Mercy, on the Seventh Ray,
Vairochana, a Dhyani Buddha, recently appointed
as the eighth member, representing the Eighth Ray.
Through the Keeper of the Scrolls and recording angels, the Lords of Karma have access to the records of each person’s incarnations.

On October 13, 1972, Mother Mary told us
that we could apply to the Keeper of the Scrolls to see the records
that would assist us in overcoming the human consciousness and
attaining our victory. Mother Mary said: “The Keeper of
the Scrolls . . . will draw forth from the Book of Life in your
behalf, if you will call to him and to the Lords of Karma, those
pages that require seeing and examination if you are to make the
proper calls.” |

It is the responsibility of the Keeper of the Scrolls to provide the Ascended Masters and the Lords of Karma with the life record of any or all incarnations of any individual about whom they may inquire.
At summer and winter solstice, we are given the opportunity by the Great Karmic Board to write to them asking for divine direction and resolution to situations we encounter for ourselves, our families, community, The Summit Lighthouse, our nations and the planet. We offer prayers, decrees and novenas, give up certain habits or commit to extra service so that we may receive further dispensations for the next six months.
We consecrate and burn these personal
letters, written by hand on paper and sealed in an envelope, addressed
to the Great Karmic Board members in real fire, with a worded invocation
to have them accepted on the altar of God, according to His Will.

" . . . we the five have gone before the Lords of Karma, bowing before them to offer ourselves in their service. "The result of this offering we have made to the Lords of Karma is that the following dispensation has been handed down: The Lords of Karma have accepted my offer to join the Karmic Board. Therefore I have become now the eighth member of that board, and my role shall be to assist those who have Light who are sincere but who have strayed from the track of reality, considering that their karma was too hard to bear. "Even some among this worldwide Community have neglected to invoke the violet flame but rather have become incensed that they should have to bear so much karma, though it be their own. So, beloved, I would teach all who apply to me, those in this Community and throughout the earth, what they need to know to make it—all the way Home. I would teach a certain level of souls who, with my support and the support of all of us, will have the opportunity to make it whereas without that support they might not make it. This blessed dispensation, beloved, is by the grace and the gentleness of all Buddhas. "Therefore, first and foremost, we would desire your cooperation through these days together so that you might enter in to prayer sessions focusing on the exorcism of foul spirits and demons that you have allowed to enter your consciousness by following the way which is not the true way. If you are to be liberated from your own anger, you must be delivered from the causes of anger and the entities that have swept through you as birds of prey to take up their abode in the branches of your tree of life. "Note well, beloved, that once these birds of prey have been allowed in, it does require a greater-than-human force to eliminate them. But the first requirement is desire, the desire to be free of demons, entities and false hierarchs who come to empower you, to give you the sense of great strength, to give you the sense that you somehow have a superior mind, a superior energy and the ability to manipulate others. "This is the beginning of the left-handed path. It begins, as I have said, when you allow into your house that which is unclean, that which is prideful, that which is the spirit of anger. Thus, you see, unless you come to your knees, confess this and literally vomit up out of your being these foul spirits, things will only go from bad to worse. "The temptation to enter the left-handed path comes to individuals in every religious movement. There are always some who are infested with foul spirits, and the open door to those spirits is always anger and pride and the desire for power and the power to control others. And the more individuals are puffed up in this state, the more they attract to themselves false hierarchs, ghostly shadows of discarnates that now become a part of their aura, and thereby their selfhood is altered. "To you, then, who have received so much comes this warning from the Lords of Karma and from ourselves: Be vigilant that you do not allow the false thief to come in the night to take from you the wholeness and oneness of your being in God. "How will you know that the false one has entered? You will know because you are no longer true to yourself. You will begin to entertain false notions about the Path and the Teaching itself, seeking the shortest shortcut you can take to gain not God's power but human power. "False hierarchs and entities play upon you with the offering of power, as they always have, but the true adepts come offering the spirit of gentleness. Gentleness is the other side of power. He who is gentle and affixed in the very heart and inner being of the gentle I AM Presence, he is the one who is in control. But it is a God-control and not a human control of the forces at large on earth who in their insanity are manipulating governments and nations in the wrong direction. "So the warning comes, beloved, as a reminder that you have entered a very high calling, the highest path that is on the planet today. You have entered this path. You must guard the citadel of being. You must guard against the voices that mutter and peep in this ear and that ear. Surely you must guard against gossip of all kinds. You must guard the sanctity of your temple and return in profound humility to your God. "When those who have allowed the negative elements to enter their lives and households are willing to surrender them, they will come to their knees and weep before the altar that they might return to safe haven and the protection of the Dhyani Buddhas and the Great White Brotherhood. "Thus, to those who are willing to receive my assistance and will accept the challenge of the hour to balance a heavy karma, to those who are willing to admit that they may have been led this way or that, I say, I will help you. I will prepare you. I will show you how in profound humility and with inner strength you will master all flaws of character that are open doors to negative spirals and negative traits and you will get on with your reason for being—why you embodied in this life in the circumstances you find yourselves—and you will know that you embodied to balance your karma so that you can fulfill your mission. "If you devote yourself to the path of karma yoga, you need not have the goal of the ascension or any goal in particular. Balancing karma is like submitting to the grades of school. You start in kindergarten and you move on. You prepare yourself for life, mastering a trade, a profession, with a tool of the hand or the mind, sharpening your skills as practice makes perfect. "Balancing karma eliminates shackles that tie you to lower levels of the astral plane and people who are not of the Light. Balancing karma is the true means of soul liberation. Ultimately, balancing karma gives you the freedom to be who you desire to be. "Failure to balance karma on the path of karma yoga but taking another path that may be a flash in the pan and then nothing or one of impressing many and then finding oneself bankrupt of soul and of one's own possessions—this is sidestepping the greatest opportunity for soul liberation that some of you have seen in ten thousand years. "It is well to open your eyes and see that it is easier to yoke yourself to the oxen, to become for a season the ox that treadeth out the corn, than it is to take all the devious routes that will get you somewhere quickly and nowhere easily and cause you to increase your karma rather than decrease it. "Karma balancing is joyous. When
you serve El Morya, Saint Germain, Jesus and the splendid ones
of Light who minister to you, each and every day you balance great
karma. You balance karma by putting your hand to the plow of publishing
the Teachings of the Ascended Masters, thereby making it possible
for millions on earth to benefit from the teaching that you send
forth." |

"I am here to tell you that I ratify this decision, and the reason is this: it comes more closely into the reflection of cosmic law. You understand that cosmic law also provides for the death penalty in the second death before the Court of the Sacred Fire on Sirius where there are those souls who are absolutely incorrigible, who will not glorify God, who have spent all of their energy on darkness. When their time is up, they pass through the second death. They stand on the dais where the currents of Alpha and Omega are manifest, and there that identity is canceled out. "Now, what do you think this does to the rest of the evolutions of the cosmos? It is the same goad to righteousness which you find in your own death penalty. As you sit here knowing the Law, knowing that you do not have forever and a day to while away the hours and to waste God's energy—knowing that there is a judgment—then you are spurred to righteousness. "And some among mankind likewise need that threat (much closer, of course, in their own lifetime) that if they commit these heinous crimes against the Mother and her children, against the body of God upon earth, that they will have to give an accounting. We see, then, that justice at work in this hour of turmoil and chaos necessitates this court decision being implemented by the states. "You see, the Lords of Karma realize that the soul that goes through that ultimate punishment will be given very quickly an opportunity to reincarnate. And on the record of that soul will be that record of the judgment and that knowledge: 'If you fail, this is what happens.' We desire to see that recorded. And, therefore, we repeat with Christ, Fear not those who kill the body, but those who are able to destroy the soul in hell. "And I tell you, many souls who have committed these crimes who are in the prisons today are rotting away because they have not had that edict of the descent of their karma. And so the bodies are preserved and the souls rot away. Would it not be better if the reverse were so? And therefore, this is that explanation. "I would also tell you that it is,
in our opinion, a manifestation of far too great a leniency when
those who are in prison for life are allowed to leave on good behavior—hardened
criminals, those who have committed mass murders. I bring these
things before you so that you will understand that ours must be
a total victory, and that total victory must manifest in justice,
in the law and in every area of life that is lived in America."
U.S. Supreme Court affirms constitutionality of death penalty on July 2, 1976. In 1967, while awaiting a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on capital punishment, the states put a hold on all executions. Before that time, few individuals in the U.S. had challenged the constitutionality of capital punishment. In 1972 (Furman v. Georgia), the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the death penalty as then administered, without standards or guidelines for trial juries to follow, was "cruel and unusual punishment in violation of the Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments." This was the first case in which the Supreme Court had ruled against the death penalty. Significantly, the Court did not rule on the constitutionality of the death penalty itself but rather on the sentencing procedure. The decision created three options for individual states to employ: a mandatory death sentence for certain offenses, development of standardized guidelines for juries, and outright abolition of the death penalty. Subsequently, the legislatures of at least 35 states revised their statutes to provide for the death penalty for at least some crimes that result in the death of another person. Then, on July 2, 1976, in Gregg v. Georgia, the Court voted 7-2 to uphold the constitutionality of the death penalty, stating that "punishment of death does not invariably violate the Constitution." The Court approved a number of the revised capital punishment statutes. Six months later, in January 1977, the first person to be executed in the U.S. in ten years was executed by a Utah firing squad. In a 1988 decision (Thompson v. Oklahoma), the Supreme Court ruled 5-3 that the "Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments prohibit the execution of a person who was under 16 years of age at the time of his or her offense." Today, all but twelve states and the District of Columbia employ the death penalty. Second death. Rev. 2:11; 20:6, 11-15; 21:7,

never die. But the soul can be lost; she can self-destruct by her
own actions. If the soul does not exercise her free will to realize
her potential, she may ultimately lose that potential and cease

his light upon you and has said to you in his heart, 'This is my

demonstrate to me that he can have this victory.'" |

"Most especially are they concerned about the potential for massive cataclysm or world war, or both. In view of these concerns, they have taken a proactive stance and are awarding grants to worthy souls who will not only apply for them but also make good on them and on their commitments of service to the Great White Brotherhood. "Therefore this is an optimum time for you to apply for and receive grants of assistance backed by certain Ascended Masters who may have close ties to you personally and who are willing to pledge a certain quotient of light to your cause. You may use this light to mitigate or avert what could be the descent of a harsh karma on a planetary scale. "Thus I ask that ere you close your eyes this night, you write a letter addressed to the Solar Logoi in care of the Karmic Board, requesting a specific grant of light to alleviate the plight of your nation, your neighborhood, your family. Seal this letter in an envelope and burn it. "The angels will take your letter to the Royal Teton Retreat, where the Lords of Karma regularly convene to deliberate on the fate of humanity. This is a spiritual retreat in the heaven-world, congruent with the Grand Teton in Wyoming. 'Your letter will be read by the Lords of Karma as soon as it is delivered, and they will evaluate it and make their recommendations according to the merit of your lifestream and the merit of the grant you are requesting. They will then forward your letter to the Solar Logoi, who will make the final decision concerning your application for a grant. 'This is a major dispensation, and I urge you to take advantage of it without delay!"
